Georgia Atkins from the Warsash Maritime Academy is preparing to brave the elements and experience what every sailor hopes they NEVER have to do for real - spend 24 hours in a liferaft.
Georgia says:
"'I am currently studying to become a Deck Officer at Warsash Maritime Academy with Holland America Line. Luckily, so far I have only had to experience time inside a life raft as part of a passenger demonstration, and in far warmer climates! It will be a mental and physical challenge to which I am looking forward to.
Having lost a relative, my Granddad, to cancer I have experienced firsthand the way this disease can throw a family into turmoil which is why I am so keen to help this charity and make a contribution to the fight for other families."
